# Do I need to install AnyDesk?

No, installation is not required for desktop platforms such as Windows, macOS, and Linux. You can run the portable version of the AnyDesk client by simply double-clicking it.

> Portable clients do not have elevated privileges by default. This can cause issues when accessing apps that require administrative permissions.
