# How can I fix connection issues in AnyDesk?

If you're having trouble connecting:

1. Verify both devices are connected to the internet.
2. Make sure AnyDesk is running on the remote device.
3. Confirm the correct **AnyDesk address** or Alias is being used.
4. Check firewall, antivirus, or proxy settings.
5. Restart AnyDesk and try again.

A name-based address used to identify a device in AnyDesk. Unlike the AnyDesk ID, which is a numerical address, the Alias uses a username and a Namespace (e.g. name@namespace) to make devices easier to recognize and manage.
