# How do I configure a proxy server?

Some organizations route internet traffic through a proxy server for security or network management purposes. If your network requires a proxy server, you can configure it in AnyDesk as described below.

To configure a proxy server in AnyDesk:

1. Open AnyDesk and click the **Menu** icon (☰).
2. Go to **Settings > Connection.** ![](https://cdn.document360.io/b94c9ac2-20ec-4c7e-b325-135b0ed113f9/Images/Documentation/image(132).png)
3. Click **Unlock** and scroll to **HTTP-Proxy**
4. Select one of the following options:
  - **No proxy** - Connect directly without using a proxy server.
  - **Detect proxy** - Automatically detect proxy settings using Proxy Auto-Config (PAC).
  - **Manual proxy setup** - Specify the proxy server address, port, and authentication details. ⚠️ The proxy server must support the **CONNECT** method and must not interfere with SSL/TLS traffic.
5. If using **manual proxy setup**, enter:
  - The proxy protocol (**HTTP** or **SOCKS**, if supported)
  - The server address
  - The port number
  - A username and password, if authentication is required
6. Save the changes.

The new proxy settings will be used for future connections.
