# Remove license from the AnyDesk client

You can remove a device from your license, if you want to replace an existing device or add a different device to your license. Once removed, the AnyDesk client and the device will be unlinked from the user account and assigned to the free version of AnyDesk.

There are two ways of removing the license from your device. In this article, we provide more information on how to remove devices from your AnyDesk license [via the AnyDesk client](/v1/docs/remove-devices-from-your-license#remove-license-from-devices-via-the-anydesk-client) and the [my.anydesk management portal](/v1/docs/remove-devices-from-your-license#remove-license-from-devices-via-myanydesk).

> Basic AnyDesk functionalities will remain, such as the ability to create or accept AnyDesk connection requests.

## Remove license from devices via the AnyDesk client

To remove a device from the license via the AnyDesk client, please follow these steps:

1. Open your AnyDesk client. After that, the AnyDesk client and the device will be unlinked from the account and assigned to the free version of AnyDesk with basic features.

## Remove license from devices via my.anydesk

You can remove devices from your license in our management portals [my.anydesk I](https://my.anydesk.com/login) and [my.anydesk II](https://my.anydesk.com/v2).

To remove a device from the license via **my.anydesk**:

my.anydesk IImy.anydesk I

1. Sign in to [my.anydesk I](https://my.anydesk.com) and go to the **Clients**tab.

1. Sign in to [my.anydesk II](https://my.anydesk.com/v2) and go to the **Clients**tab.
2. Select the checkbox for the Custom Client you wish to remove from the license and click on **Remove from license**.
