What are concurrent connections?

Prev Next

Concurrent connections are remote connections between devices that happen at the same time. In the context of remote support, this means that multiple members of a support team can provide assistance to different users at the same time. In that case, each support agent would use one connection to connect to an end user. The total number of concurrent connections allowed is determined by your license.

Benefits of concurrent connections

The ability to have multiple connections in parallel is essential when multiple devices need to be accessed at the same time, such as teams that provide technical support or manage a large number of devices. The benefits of concurrent connections include:

  • Enhanced productivity: Tasks can be resolved quickly as team members can work in parallel and don’t need to wait to get access.

  • Increased flexibility: Licensing is based on the number of connections rather than the number of users. This means you only pay for the connections you need, which is particularly cost-effective for teams where not everyone needs access at the same time.

  • Easy scalability: Easily scale as your business grows. Add connections as needed without the hassle of rethinking user allocations or needing to upgrade your whole license.

  • Operational efficiency: Handle multiple connections at the same time effortlessly, ensuring smooth operation with no latency or disconnections. IT support teams can assist multiple clients or devices at once, improving response times and customer satisfaction.

Licenses for concurrent connections

The number of concurrent connections in your license sets the limit for how many remote connections can run at the same time. Licenses determine how many concurrent connections a user can have. With AnyDesk's licensing model, customers pay based on the number of concurrent connections rather than the total number of users. This structure offers a more tailored approach to resource allocation and cost efficiency. All team licenses offer the possibility to have extra concurrent connections.

AnyDesk Standard license includes 1 outgoing connection by default.

You can purchase the concurrent connection add-on and create up to 19 connections simultaneously.

AnyDesk Advanced license includes 2 outgoing concurrent connections by default.

You can purchase the concurrent connection add-on and create up to 48 connections simultaneously.

EXAMPLE

An IT support agent connects to Employee A's laptop while another assists Employee B with network troubleshooting. Both connections occur simultaneously, requiring a license with at least 2 concurrent connections.

It is beneficial to evaluate the specific licensing needs based on the desired number of concurrent connections to optimize resource use effectively.
